Melanie and Meghan met in Mrs. Greene's 4th grade class at Medlock Bridge Elementary School. They discovered they lived in the same neighborhood and became best friends. They played the flute together, started a band (Flame 600, M&M was taken), shared clothes in high school, learned how to drive together, and were roommates after college. They have a true friendship unlike any other, and are both still bitter about not winning class inseparables in high school *cough*.
The best besties there ever were.
Kellie and Melanie met their freshman year of college at Alabama. There was a Sorority sleepover one night at Alpha Phi where they bonded over their love of scary movies and Harry Potter. They were roommates their senior year of college. Kellie lives in Atlanta now with her husband Doc (whom Melanie told Kellie she would marry). Melanie was a bridesmaid in Kellie's wedding.
Margaret and Melanie met back in 2004 when they were about to start high school. They met at JCUMC youth group and attended a mission trip together to Duck Valley, Nevada. There weren't many girls their age on that trip and their friendship grew immensely. They are still best friends to this day and remain close with a group from JCUMC. Melanie was a bridesmaid in Margaret's wedding.
Kelsey and Melanie met one strange day freshman year of high school. The story goes that Melanie requested a massage during 2nd period Spanish, which she denies to this day. Fun Fact: Kelsey went on Wright & Melanie's first date (She was invited).
Haley and Melanie dabbled in friendship in their early elementary days, but the flower of friendship truly blossomed at JCUMC. Haley and Melanie both joined the youth choir, as well as youth group. They have been on many trips together and continue their friendship from afar. Haley is now living in New York, but the two see each other as much as they can. They remain best friends and talk every day.
Cara is one of Melanie's best friends from Alabama. They met their freshman year in their sorority, Alpha Phi. They both lived across the hall from each other junior year, and were inseparable. Now, they both live in Atlanta and cheer on the tide. Melanie was a bridesmaid in Cara's wedding.
Kaylee and Melanie met back in 4th grade. Melanie was new to the neighborhood Medlock Bridge, where Kaylee lived. The two instantly connected and became close friends. They were in competing girl scout troops, but that didn't stop them from going on many a family vacation together. Their friendship continued throughout middle school and high school. They remain best friends today. Melanie was a bridesmaid in Kaylee's wedding.
To be honest, the origin of this friendship is a mystery. Melanie simply can't remember when Natalie wasn't in her life. There are just instant memories of tacos, laughter, and Natalie raising her hand while shopping because she gets lost among the clothing racks.
Christine recently joined the Groover family and we couldn't be happier about it. Melanie has always wanted a sister, now she just needs to move closer so they can share clothes and makeup. Melanie was a bridesmaid in Christine's wedding.
